There will be two specially-released beers, and the brewpub is giving away free souvenir pint glasses.

It took Dangerous Minds Brewing two years to open its doors. Less than five months later the taproom was temporarily closed.

The owners had never run – or even worked in – a kitchen, but were opening with a pizzeria.

Putting out quality food at the right costs was a challenge they overcame before opening last Halloween. Then by March, they faced an even greater obstacle when the pandemic forced breweries to shutdown statewide.

“We built up a decent local following who really want us to succeed,” Adam Bowring, co-owner of Dangerous Minds Brewing, told Broward Beer. “I feel they came and got pizzas and beer – whether they needed them or not – just to support us, which was very humbling.”

The Pompano Beach brewpub survived and is celebrating its one-year anniversary this Saturday from 1 to 10 p.m. Aside from a free event, here’s why you should stop by…

Bowring says it won’t be a big party and hopes guests will stagger in throughout the day to help with social distancing guidelines.

All customers will receive a souvenir pint glass with the Dangerous Minds logo. Every hour, they’ll raffle away a $25 gift certificate.

From 2 p.m. on, there will be live music. And there’s going to be two specially released beers:

  • “House in Woods” gingerbread stout: 9.6% ABV
“Meeting of the Minds” saison collaboration beer with Orchestrated Minds: 6.7% ABV

Finally at 9 p.m. will be the final raffle for a gift basket with merchandise, gift certificate, and gingerbread cookies. The owners request everyone wear masks unless seated.
